PROFILE  -Tokyo Musik Kreis-

Tokyo Musik Kreis is a choir based in the greater Tokyo area. Since its establishment in 2006, by a university student and a recent graduate, it has grown to about 70singers from around the world, mostly young professionals and all in their 20s and 30s. Our resident conductor is Yusuke Watanabe, a member of the Bach Collegium Japan, and our repetoire consists mainly of Baroque, Classical, and Romantic choral music, usually performed with orchestral accompaniment.

The name Tokyo Musik Kreis, German for Tokyo Music Circle, comes not only from our aspiration be successful as a classical choir, but from our desire, through our performance, to experience beautiful music together with our audience, and for it to emotionally move us together as one. We always work hard at sincere practice and strive for a deep familiarity with the music, and continually seek to improve. Our aim is to joyfully convey an original expression of music to our audience.
